What are senior portraits?

Senior portraits allow high school seniors to capture a memorable time in their life through fun and creative pictures. It is the start of the next chapter in their lives.  Whether that be to attend college, join the military, travel the world or go into the workforce, it is a choice and your decision!  Senior sessions can be super fun & exciting!

What does a senior portrait look like?

We can go with a classic head-shot, we can go to your favorite hangout spot or we can recommend a location.  If you want your best friend in the picture, let’s include them too. If you have a classic car that you’ve worked on all through high school…that would be awesome to include it. We just want your personality to shine through.

When should I take my senior portraits?

They can really be taken anytime of the year.  Some seniors start having theirs taken the summer before their senior year.  Many seniors have them taken throughout their senior year.  Just let us know if you have any deadlines you are trying to make for any reason.  At the end of the day, while these photos will certainly be cherished by your family and can be used for gifts & graduation announcements, these photos are for you!

Why are senior portraits important?

Senior portraits are as important as you want them to be.  There’s nothing quite like having a photographer meet with you, capture your personality and best angles, and put in the time and effort to produce some amazing images of you. It’s good for your self esteem, and when all those iphone filters start looking less trendy, your senior portraits will remain timeless.  We strive for a classic, timeless look, something that will be in style now as well as 20 years from now.

What should I WEAR to my senior portrait session?

We are big fans of bringing several outfits (actually more than you need so we can pick the best and most flattering outfits together).  At least one casual and one dressy. If you’d like to tie your hobbies or interests into your session, bringing an outfit that ties into that hobby is a great idea. Be prepared to change outfits quickly so we have more time to shoot.  We are big believers in wearing what makes you feel comfortable and confident.

What should I BRING to my senior portrait session?

A few outfits and accessories, certainly!  Props are a great way to bring your personal style and interests into your session. Feel free to bring sports equipment if you are a team player or fan, musical instruments, or hobby items.  Bring different outfits that you wear while doing those hobbies such as ballet shoes, football jerseys, cheerleading uniforms, baseball hats, etc. We welcome you to bring a friend if that person can help make you relax or take a natural picture.  They can also help with clothing changes, hair and funny jokes.  It’s always fun to think outside the box and bring your dog, your car, your favorite book, the sky’s really the limit!
